Second Annual Athletics Day for Children in Uganda

Location: Kampala, Uganda

On 28 August 2026, the second annual Athletics Day for children in Uganda took place in Kampala, building on the success of last year’s event. This year, 180 children took part in the day.

The event was filled with movement, competition, and, most importantly, the shared joy of sport. Divided into different age categories, the children competed in a variety of athletics disciplines, supported one another, and gave their very best throughout the day.

Following last year’s first edition, which welcomed 142 children, we are delighted to see the Athletics Day continue to grow. This year’s event was another great success, showing once again how sport can bring children together, create new experiences, and provide a memorable day filled with energy and enthusiasm.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the second Athletics Day possible, and especially to all 180 children who created such a fantastic atmosphere. We are already looking forward to the next one!
